Daniel Ottoni
CCO, Managing Director ard Partner at Zmes
Daniel Ottoni is passionate about ideas, advertising and the transformation of society through education. He is CCO and partner at Zmes, an advertising agency and business consultancy that in 2 years has already generated more than BRL 2 billion in impact for its clients. Previously, he was CCO of TracyLocke Brasil, a global agency of the DDB group and was part of the creative board of DDB Latina, where he transformed the agency and led it to win the biggest awards in its history in the world.
Daniel transitioned from TracyLocke and Sunset to the return of DM9, becoming Creative Vice President, revamped the 60-person team, creative positioning, campaign and identity. He delivered the agency keeping accounts and winning 2 lions and 8 shortlists in Cannes.
He creatively led BFerraz with operations in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Daniel deformatted the agency, made the team diverse by hiring 14 women and helped create BNetwork, planning with Bazinho Ferraz its positioning and operating verticals.
Daniel was Creative Director at Africa DDB, Associate Creative Director at R/GA. He was also Senior Art Director at DM9 DDB, Neogama BBH, AgênciaClick Isobar and Associate Creative Director at Garage Interactive and Sinc Digital. Collects more than 140 awards including Cannes, The One Show, New Blood D&AD, London, El Ojo, Effie, Clio Sports, Fiap, Wave, Sinos, Cristal, MMA, Creation Club and publications in Lürzer's Archive and Shots Magazine.
Daniel was a judge at festivals such as Cannes Lions, The One Show, D&AD, Dubai Lynx, Effie Brasil (4x), Effie Latam, Clio Health, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, NY Festivals, White Square Festival, The Heart DDB, Creative Club of Brazil (2x), Ampro Globes Awards (2x), Abradi Award and São Paulo Columnists. He represented Brazil as a judge for Ad Stars in South Korea. In 2008 he was invited by Microsoft to be part of the Artists in Residence Program at its headquarters in Redmond.
Daniel has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from ESPM and is a professor of Art Direction and Awards Debrief at Escola Cuca, was a professor of Creative Processes at the Graduate Program at FAAG, and lecturer at Oklahoma University, Mackenzie, Cásper Líbero and he was invited to give the master class of Advertising at Puc Minas, where he graduated. Daniel believes that these are some of the ways to give back to the market what he has learned throughout his 25-year career.
A curious fact is that at the age of 17 he was emancipated by his parents to undertake and with his brother to create his first company, 3D Cine, the first 3D cinema in Brazil with the same technology as Disney.
